Tubbs Jones Announces Events for the 36th Annual Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference
Washington, D.C. -Today Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones announced the events she will be hosting and participating in during the 36th Annual Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Annual Legislative Conference taking place September 6-9th, 2006 at the Washington Convention Center. In keeping with this year's theme, Changing Course, Confronting Crises, Continuing the Legacy, Rep. Tubbs Jones will be participating in three issues forums covering the topics of retirement security, women in politics and community reentry. Additionally, Rep. Tubbs Jones will host her annual Soul Food Luncheon.
"The CBC Annual Legislative Conference is a wonderful time for African Americans to come together and address the issues of our community," said Rep. Tubbs Jones. "I encourage my constituents of the 11th Congressional district to come and join in these very important discussions as we look to make positive changes within our communities."
The Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) is considered to be the premier African American conference on policy issues. The ALC provides the platform for the 43 African American Members of Congress to share the progress of their work on legislative items and also allows for the exchange of ideas correlated to policy issues that are of critical concern to their constituents.
