I am advocating the following ten points:

• Help working families by raising the minimum wage. Help people obtain skills that are needed in the marketplace. Skilled workers attract companies that want to hire them;



• Make health care affordable by offering a guaranteed benefit



• Ensure a safe and dignified retirement for seniors. Expand coverage for long term care and assistance to caregivers;



• Invest in young people by adequately funding public schools. Reduce college tuition costs. Lower interest rates on student loans so that students aren't forced into economic hardship upon graduation;



• Achieve energy independence by investing in alternate sources of energy such as hydrogen, nuclear, wind, solar, and clean coal technologies. Require increased fuel economy in passenger vehicles and light trucks;



• Increase government funding for research and development to spur technological innovation and grow the American economy.



• Restore the budget discipline of the 1990's that helped eliminate deficits and spur record economic growth;



• Preserve civil liberties and individual privacy rights;



• Establish criteria for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq and Afghanistan;



• Restore America's adherence to International Law and the Geneva Conventions to encourage other countries to respect international human rights.
